Currently I spend most of my gaming time playing Xbox 360, the Wii, or World of Warcraft. My Xbox Gamertag is MightyTaternuts and I play on the Bloodscalp US WoW server, my main is named Toombs. My name inside of Second Life is Kavis Tracer. I have been known to kick around in Counter Strike, Battlenet, or any number of other games, usually my alias is Taternuts, Atlanean, or MasTequila. I believe that the Beta phase of development for a Massively Multiplayer Online Game is extremely important. Developers and internal testers cannot match the hours that some of the most hardcore players can play. Therefore it is necessary to receive input from these players about the game prior to the games release. I am actually really disappointed in the recent push to have beta testing be another way to hype a game or create revenue. Offering pre-order beta keys and beta keys for purchasing another game I think are really diluting the power of true beta testers.

Games Beta Tested in Closed Betas:
World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, Auto Assault, Lineage II, Guild Wars, and City of Heroes

MMOGs I have Played but not Beta Tested:
Star Wars Galaxies, Neocron, Neocron II, PlanetSide, Ragnarok, and City of Villains

I consider myself a gamer before anything else and to that end I figured I would list some games that have played competitively. By competitively I mean that I have played the game in a tournament, league, event, and ranked ladder.

Competitive Games:
Unreal Tournament 2004, Halo, Halo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft III, Counter Strike 1.7, and Half Life

I have picked five games from every system I have owned. I picked these games because of certain qualities that I like and wanted to express. I have many, many more favorite games for each of these systems but these games were chosen for there unique mechanics, stories, or atmosphere.

While video games are the current platform in which games are made I do have a highly respectful interest in card, board, and pen and paper games. I am not expert in any of these games and if anything I am a student of them, using them to learn about game design, balance, and fun. If I had more time I would love to design a pen and paper game because they are the foundation for so many games both video and other.

Tabletop Games I own, play, or study:
Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Classic Battletech, Gurps, Dungeons and Dragons, and Mechwarrior Darkage

Scuba Diving
I am certified in open water diving and I love it. I have done the majority of my dives in the Florida Keys and have found it much more enjoyable than my certification dives up here in Massachusetts. I hope to update this section with pictures and dive information.

Cooking
Like games and play cooking and eating is a social interaction for me. People can change their mood depending on what they eat and how their experience was when eating it. I have also always liked the open ended nature of sticking flavors together and seeing what you get. I hope to update this with some of my favorite recipes.

Pixel Art
I am not an artist so my interest in pixel art is not so much in making it as it is in looking at it. While I have been known to try to make some pixel art from time to time, but I do not ever think my skills will rise above being a hobbyist. With the rise of personal electronics and a move to retro in gaming it is very easy to find pixel art in both games and culture.

Reading Science Fiction and Fantasy
Video games take up the lions share of my free entertainment time but I do still find time to read fiction. Some of my favorite authors and Kurt Vonnegut, J.R.R. Tolkien, Micheal Stackpole, and Stephen King. I hope to update this later with a list of my favorite books and why they are my favorites.
